I have bought a few of my favorite books from OMF Literature, such as All The Places To Go (John Ortberg) and Passion (Louie Giglio). The majority of the books I have I have won through various OMF online contests!

Day 016 January 16

You play a huge part in my bookworm journey. Indeed, you’ve awakened the bookworm in me some ten years ago! Thank you so much, OMF! ❤

For the past years, I’ve been using books from OMF Literature for both our weekly Youth Group Bible Study gatherings and Kids’ JAM School (JCEF Church’s Children’s Ministry).

We have already finished the book Mga Gabay Sa Pag-aaral Ng Biblia (Aklat 1) by Bertram Lim, which I won from an OMF online contest a few years ago. We’re now using Bible Study Guides (Volume 3) by the same author for our Youth Group Bible Study gatherings.

It’s going to be my second time to attend the Manila International Book Fair this 2017, and I couldn’t be any more excited! Yiiiiiiiha! 😍

The following promos and books heighten my excitement! Check them out!

My Bookworm Journey

Standard

I came to know Omf Literature when I was 3 years into college, though I don’t remember now exactly what brought me to their store at Boni Avenue. Most likely, the Left Behind series, co-authored by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye being on sale was what drew me to the place. At the time, I could buy only a book or two at once, so I’ve had to keep coming back to the store until I almost completed the series.  Then, a friend gave me a copy of Philip Yancey’s “What’s So Amazing About Grace?” which has become one of my favorites. Later on, I found out that it was also published by OMF. That, I think, jump-started my bookworm journey.  I’ve discovered and got fond of various authors and their works over time. Now, I’m a certified bibliophile—a staggering fact, which my mother and brother are having a difficult time to accept to this day.

Day 016 January 16

Save for 5 books, all of these are some of the prizes I’ve won through OMF’s online contests via their Facebook page. Sometimes, I still can’t believe they could be as generous as they’ve been through the years. I still get excited whenever they put up a new contest or raffle, which they often do; so do yourself a favor by visiting their Facebook page every once in a while. You’re welcome!

The Search

Standard

I’ve been trying to read “Heaven” by Randy Alcorn via the WORDsearch app, but something has been making it hard for me to do so. There might be some glitch or something, which I already reported to the developer. Still I’ve thought of getting back to reading it every once in a while. Just last month, I saw it at a bookstore, and it was a hardcover edition! OH MY!!! 😍

I couldn’t afford it at the time, so I had to pass up the chance to finally own it and smell its pages. 😢 Since then, I couldn’t get it out of my head. It’s an awful case of finding the right book at the wrong time… 💔

Fast-forward to today, I’ve already moved on. I’ve learned to accept the things I cannot change. 😉 Earlier today, I had to buy some stuff. Then I remembered there’s a branch of the same bookstore where I was going, so I thought of taking a glimpse of their collection of books. I might just find “Heaven” there! 😍

A few seconds after I went out of the store, I checked my watch. The supposed “glimpse” had taken me almost two hours! 😱 I might not have found “Heaven,” but these made my heart full! 😍

Day 013 January 13

In life, we don’t always get what we want… but sometimes, we get more than what we originally wanted! 😉

Book Review: The Power Of A Half Hour

The Power of a Half Hour: Take Back Your Life Thirty Minutes at a Time

For weeks, I’ve been looking for a book which could help improve my prayer life, and I think I found it in THE POWER OF A HALF HOUR by Ps. Tommy Barnett.

Reading it might be boring at first, but as I read further, oh what a gem of a book I found—chapter after chapter. I’ve highlighted more than 89 sentences on the book, and this is one of my favorites:

“Love is limitless. You can never lose love by giving it away.”

It’s great that the book is able to cover life’s many facets and is not only filled with wisdom but is also sprinkled with humor!

The author is generous enough to share even his intimate moments with his family. I admire his great faith for taking big risks. He even encouraged me to start writing my own book in the process!

This book made me realize how powerful a half hour can be to impact our lives, change our life paths, strengthen our faith, build our character, advance our dreams, improve our relationships, and change the world. This taught me to be intentional in using even the least amount of time.

This book spurred me on to be more grateful, to love more, and to serve more.
